Children’s Advocacy Center Golf Tournament
The Children's Advocacy Center is based upon the fundamental premise that children have the right to be safe and protected from harm. The CAC is dedicated to minimizing secondary trauma to child victims by streamlining the handling of cases of child sexual abuse, serious child physical abuse, and child exploitation. Through the CAC, children and families are linked to medical, mental health, victim advocacy and other services determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition, the Chamber will partner once again with Cooley Dickinson Health Care, to award two $1,000 scholarships to two deserving seniors pursuing business and/or healthcare related studies, in an institution of higher education

Here is Cooley Dickinson Hospital’s message to all volunteers, sponsors and supporting community members:
The impact of your support for this tournament is immense. Every dollar raised stays in our community and honors new life. Your generosity ensures that we can breathe new life into the Childbirth Center, transforming it into a warm, welcoming, modern space. Plans for the renovations are being adjusted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we will begin construction as soon as it is safe for our patients, staff, and community. With your support, the birthing experience will be one of greater comfort and joy for families in our community. While our tournament looked a bit different this year with safety front and center we hope you enjoyed two fun filled and, relaxing days on the course. Your support changes lives-Bringing a baby into the world is one of life’s most memorable experiences. The joy of childbirth continues, even during a pandemic, and because of you mothers, newborns, and their families can access the high quality, compassionate health care they require and deserve.

Pearson Wallace Insurance of Amherst and Pittsfield Donates to Annual Hunger Relief Program
Arbella Insurance Foundation’s and Pearson Wallace Insurance “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” initiative
continues in its 12th year
PITTSFIELD Mass. –MARCH 4TH 2020 – PEARSON WALLACE INSURANCE announced we will be donating $1,500 to the SOUTH CHURCH FOOD PANTRY as part of the Arbella Insurance Foundation’s Let’s Drive Out Hunger program. Along with PEARSON WALLACE INSURACE, the Arbella Insurance Foundation donated $1,000 to bring the total donation to $1,500.
Now in its 12th year, Let’s Drive Out Hunger aims to alleviate the prevalent issue of food insecurity in New England. The Arbella Insurance Foundation collects contributions from any of Arbella Insurance’s nearly 500 partner independent agents and matches each donation on a two-to-one basis – up to $1,000 per agency. Since the program started, the Arbella Insurance Foundation and independent agents have contributed more than $1 million to more than 400 food programs, including food pantries, food banks and homeless shelters throughout New England to combat food insecurity.
“According to Feeding America, more than 616,000 people in Massachusetts, are struggling with hunger - and of them nearly 160,000 are children,” said BETH PEARSON, CEO OF PEARSON WALLACE INSURANCE. “That means that 1 in 9 children struggle with hunger in this state. Hunger is a persistent issue in all our local communities and can affect our friends, our neighbor and even our colleagues. We are proud to donate to SOUTH CHURCH FOOD PANTRY to help families in PITTSFIELD, MA AND BERKSHIRE COUNTY overcome food insecurity.
Hunger is not only detrimental to those who are in severe poverty. As stated by Feeding America, many working families including thousands who don’t quality for federal nutrition assistance depend on organizations like them to help make ends meet. Job loss or unexpected costs can overwhelm families at any time. Additionally, the rising costs of living and healthcare force families to choose between spending money on food or utilities and medical costs.
